Katy holds a Master of Education in Human Development Counseling from Vanderbilt University. Before transitioning into private practice and becoming a fully licensed professional counselor, she worked for several years in student support at Vanderbilt. Later, she went on to teach Group Counseling in the Human Development Counseling program as well.

Katy opened her practice in March 2020 and began by offering pro-bono sessions to survivors of the March 2020 tornado that impacted many parts of Nashville. Her passion for helping trauma survivors grew and she pursued training in Somatic and Attachment Focused EMDR to treat trauma, studied the Structural Dissociation Model of trauma, and dove into Internal Family Systems therapy both personally and professionally.

Her own experiences with C-PTSD and Autism have guided her clinical practice. As she has learned to support her unique needs, she has become more and more passionate in helping others to do so. In her free time Katy enjoys allowing herself to rest, yoga, and Rupaul’s Drag Race.

Katy is licensed in TN, KY, and FL.
